Red Wing gets the Governor a fish! In 1998 in his last year, Governor Arne Carlson chose Red Wing to host Minnesota's annual fishing opener. This was to be Arne's last chance to catch a fish, any fish, as he was previously been skunked at 0 for 7. Arne loved Red Wing and said many times how his run for Governor started in Red Wing.
